Everything you need to know about the adoption process
Adopting an animal through Street Souls is handled via our non-profit animal protection association "Street Souls asbl" with registration number F12000 at the "Registre des Commerces et Sociétés".
These are rescue animals, mainly coming from the public animal shelter in Dej, Romania.
The responsible animal protection organisation on site is called "Asociatia Anima pro terra".
Adopting an animal is a big and important decision that we make together. We want to make sure every animal goes to the right family.
If you are interested, please fill in the form on the animal's page. Briefly describe yourself, your living situation and your motivation for adopting.
Once we receive your request, we will contact you to discuss it. We will look together at whether this animal could fit into your life.
Once we have jointly chosen a suitable animal for your family, it will be provisionally reserved for you. We will then arrange a home visit. During this visit, we will go through the protection contract together and explain exactly how and when your animal will arrive.
All our animals travel exclusively by transport with the company "Cat and Dog Rescue Transport". They travel with a valid EU pet passport, are all microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed and protected against fleas and ticks, are registered on Traces and have been health-checked by the competent official vet. They are also tested for the most common Mediterranean diseases before travel.
Even after the adoption, we are here for you. We always love to receive updates about your animal!
We charge a protection fee that partially covers the costs of vaccinations, neutering, microchip, deworming and transport. The fee is €350 for dogs and €250 for cats.
Our animals are ONLY rehomed after a positive home check, signing of the protection contract and payment of the protection fee.
